Trump Taps Stephen Miller as White House Chief of Staff

President Trump announced Friday that Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller will become White House chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles, who will move to another role. The Gateway Pundit described it as the first major Cabinet-rank shakeup since Democrats swept Tuesday’s midterm elections.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump called Miller “one of my most trusted advisors” and said he will take over as chief of staff starting Monday, Nov. 9, 2026. Trump said Wiles, “who has done an outstanding job,” will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation, and thanked her for her service.

Trump told reporters he wanted a change. “Sometimes you gotta make moves,” he said.

Miller responded in a statement posted on X, calling Trump “the most transformative political leader in American History.” He said it has been “the privilege of my lifetime” to serve on Trump’s team from the start and that he is “honored beyond words” to serve as chief of staff.

Miller also thanked Wiles for “her years of devoted service” and her friendship. “The mission now is more clear than ever,” he wrote, saying the goal is to support the president and “defend this magnificent Republic.”
