Conservative host Mark Levin warned on Election Day that Republicans could lose important races, including in Republican states such as Texas, Florida, Kansas and Iowa, and argued that any losses would come down to Democrats turning out in greater numbers, not the Iran war, according to Revolver News.
In a televised monologue shared on X by Chris Menahan, Levin pushed back on the idea that the war would drive Republican losses. “The vast majority of us are utterly unaffected by” the war, Levin said, adding that if Republicans lose, “it’s not because of the Iran War.”
Revolver News, which described the segment as an emotional rant, noted that Levin has been one of the most prominent voices supporting military action against Iran. The outlet said Levin dismissed complaints from conservatives who feel the Trump administration has not delivered what they expected, defended the president’s handling of Iran, and listed states where Republican turnout was reportedly looking weak.
The outlet argued that Levin was trying to separate the election results from the policies voters had debated for months, and said voters’ views on government policy naturally affect whether they turn out. It called his claim that most Americans are unaffected by the conflict “dismissive and elitist,” noting that people may have family members serving in the military or may simply oppose U.S. involvement.
At the same time, Revolver said foreign policy is not the only issue on voters’ minds, pointing to the border and the stakes for immigration enforcement if control of Congress changes hands. It argued that voters could be upset about the Iran war and still turn out because they believe issues at home matter more.
